# ExploreGit > Honest side-by-side comparisons of open-source tools, with live GitHub data. ExploreGit compares 3–5 open-source projects for a specific job and names a pick. Candidate lists and written analysis are AI-assisted; every repository shown is checked against the GitHub API for its canonical location, stars, licence, last commit, latest release and archived status (cached up to 24 hours). A repository with no commit in 12+ months is labelled Dormant, and one marked read-only on GitHub is labelled Archived. Picks are never an archived repository without saying so, and no placement is paid for. ## Hubs - [All comparisons](https://exploregit.com/compare): every published comparison, grouped by category - [Topics](https://exploregit.com/topics): comparisons, new repositories and established projects by topic - [Fresh Drops](https://exploregit.com/fresh): open-source repositories created in the last 90 days, ranked by traction ## AI & Machine Learning - [Tool for Semantic Search over Documents](https://exploregit.com/compare/best-open-source-tool-for-semantic-search-over-documents): weaviate, haystack, llama_index, qdrant;
